Shri Karnati Venkata Subba Reddy known as KV Subba Reddy born in a famer’s house in Cumbum Village of Prakasam District. He was Revenue Officer in the British Government, but resigned and joined the movement for getting Krishna river water to his area. He was the President of District Telugu Desam Party Farmers’ Association for quite some time during the period of Late Shri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, but later left for the movement. Till his death at the age of about 95 years, in association with Prof Kandula Nagi Reddy and others, he was actively fighting for Veligonda Project, a major irrigation project for the benefit of Praksasm, Nellore and Kadapa Districts in Andhra Pradesh. Due to his sincere efforts, the project was sanctioned, and now it is under completing stage. But unfortunately, he expired during 2008 without seeing the happiness on the faces of the farmers of this area.
The Botuku Ramesh Sneha Samithi felt it is just and necessary to motivate the agriculturists in Prakasam District in memory of Shri KV Subba Reddy. Therefore, it is proposed to confer an award from the year starting 2017 in memory of Shri KV Subba Reddy for an agriculturist of Prakasam District being recommended by a Committee constituted by the Samithi. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) and a memento.
Nominations/applications will be called for in the month of November, and will end by the month end. Selection process will be completed by the second week of December, and the award will be conferred on the date and venue as decided by the Executive Committee.
